With anticipation growing feverishly for the next instalment of the Avengers series, Marvel has today revelaed that principle photography has begun on one it's net slate of films.
Captain Marvel will star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, and as previously announced by Marvel Studios, the film will be set in the 90's.
What wasn't previously known, was that the film will feature several returning MCU characters. Samuel L Jackson will return as Nick Fury, with Clark Gregg, as Agent Coulson returning alongside him. The film will be the first time that Agent Coulson will reprise his role on the big screen since the original Avengers movie.
More interestingly however, is that Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou will reprise their roles as Ronan the Accuser and Korath respectively. Both were last seen in the original Guardians of the Galaxy film. Many were originally underwhelmed by the lack of menace that the villains portrayed in their original outings so perhaps this Marvel's opportunity to set the record straight for how much of a threat they can pose.
Captain Marvel is set for release in March 2019 and will disclose the origin story of Carol Danvers, as she gets to grips with her newfound superpowers, after her DNA is fused with that of a Kree soldier.
