Crystal Dynamics, the current developers of the Tomb Raider series have finally shed more light on the latest adventure for Lara Croft.
Released today, was a CGI trailer of the final instalment of the developers rebooted franchise. Titled Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the game will see Lara finally grow into the even more badass video game character that gamers knew from the original 32-bit era.
Whilst the trailer doesn't have any actual game play footage, it gives a good insight into exactly what players can expect. With tremendous deft defying jumps, and lurking in the darkness to pounce on her prey, the game looks to be focusing on the "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" moniker.
It will certainly be interesting to see what new mechanics Crystal Dynamics can implant in to the already well established world of Tomb Raider, and Rise of the Tomb Raider, the last two games in the series, to keep the world fresh.
Experience Lara Croft’s defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will ultimately be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.
The game will release on the Playstation 4, and Xbox One on the 14th September 2018 and comes in three versions.
Steel Book Edition: Steel case, 3 x art cards, bonus currency pack to spend in game
Croft Edition: All perks from the Steel Book Edition, 3 additional weapons & outfits, digital download of the official soundtrack, 48 hours early access to the game, Season Pass including 7 challenge tombs, 7 new outfits, weapons & skills, and new side missions.
