Sega today released news that many had been waiting a very long time for.
Shenmue I and II are being released on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One this year.
Although this news is welcome, it certainly shouldn't come as a surprise, given that Yu Suzuki's long awaiting third instalment in the saga is due for release this year.
Whilst information is slim, what we do know is that the game will feature high definition graphics, improved control mechanics, which we assume refers to dual analogue controls, and additional content.
The games will also come in both physical and digital versions.
We've contacted Sega directly to find out what this "additional content" could be. But for now, the speculation begins. Perhaps added classic Sega arcade games? It is unlikely that there will be major story content given the time frame that Sega has to complete the game, and the fact that Yu Suzuki will have no direct involvement with the conversions.
There is currently no fixed release date other than a tentative 2018 release for both console versions. What would you like to see added to the games, and would you like to see a Nintendo Switch version announced too?
